The important stuff has been mentioned, but I would add look at the oil filter mounting and make sure it will clear anything like the steering box. the oiling is different in the later small sixes than the early but it should bolt in otherwise.
If the oil filter mount is a problem, there are work arounds for that, just don't try and fit the early filter adaptor on to the block of the later engine, it will not work correctly.
