Replace 1954 SD220 engine with a 1963 BG241 engine?

Are the BG series 6-cyl blocks the same as the BD series blocks? I found a 1963 BG241 that I want to put in place of my 1954 BD220 in an R-160 COE. I have found very little information on the BG series engine online, except that they were use in trucks from 1963 to 1969. Does anyone have info on the BG series 6-cylinders?
Thank you.

You would need to use the wishbone front engine mount and bracket from your BD, but it bolts on, so it's basically a bolt-in operation. One thing that may be an issue is the accelerator linkage. By the time of the BG's, the through-the-block linkage wasn't used. While the BG's still had the holes, they didn't put the bushings in. So you may need to locate those bushings, or try to use the ones from your BD.

been out of internet range for a week or so.
The important stuff has been mentioned, but I would add look at the oil filter mounting and make sure it will clear anything like the steering box. the oiling is different in the later small sixes than the early but it should bolt in otherwise.
If the oil filter mount is a problem, there are work arounds for that, just don't try and fit the early filter adaptor on to the block of the later engine, it will not work correctly.
