Of course they do. How else do you think they train the guys to work in 3rd world countries on old trucks! LOL! I think SuprJohn may be The Ambassador in charge of foreign mechanical education!Cool(CIA Covert operations)Wink

Old age and treachery over comes youth and education, not to mention better judgement! My forgetter's workin' better, but my rememberer is broke! If it ain't broke don't fix it! OR If it ain't broke it can't be fixed! OR If it ain't broke, fix it anyway! OR Maybe I've got too many OLD IHC trucks!   http://www.magihcvintagetruck.ca/ Visit them here. OH Ya! Automatic means you can't fix it yourself!

So,…My son,…the computer guru, helped my understand the Google earth i have, (in his words "actuall pretty good"). He showed me the settings and how I can put in a coordinate and it will get me right there.

I saw this red house roof with a chevy in the front. I'm guessing that is your house in Chino, Dan. So where is the IHC?  My son did say that our update in Creston is a rather old, old 'update'. I does look old indeed. In Jimbos area one can look at streetview!  kinda a bit creepy, huh?

Yep, that's the 'Red Roof Inn' or 'Pizza Hut' as people call my house. I'v integrated the neighborhood. The old WestCoaster was up at a storage facility and has been sold/traded now. The yellow Scout II with the beautiful yellow engine is in the shop.

If you put in the street address google earth will automatically take you there. I wonder if Mike, mag623, has his all camo-d up.

Mine trucks don't live with me,( broken home! LOL!) and the street view is about 2 months before I moved in. The ariel view is much older. We are just not interesting enough for the drone planes to take pics of. LOL!

Do you guys ever get an annoying song stuck in your head? There was a story on the radio about them. They're called "earworms."

Mostly the tune in my head is anoying to my wife. "Little Nash Rambler" probably because I sing along and honk the horn acordingly. That and I can't carry a tune in a bucket. MM

I've sung that one  and it's stuck in my head now too! Funny!  It comes from the same era as my truck—late fifties, early sixties, I think.   I'm getting 'homesick'  for my parked truck lately. I wish I had the ins. money. dang.

Earworms??? Sounds like a job for Q-Tips!

Dan has come up with a new topic to discuss…annoying songs/songs you hate. I'm sure we all have some!?

One comes to mind…Benny & the jets.

"Lovin' You" by Minnie Ripperton. It will break glass.

"MacArthur Park" by anybody with access to a tape recorder in the 70's, although Richard Harris' version is the most odious. I've heard that there have been over a hundred commercial releases of this song- Lord, WHY! Isn't that cake dissolved by now?

I could go on and probably will. Somebody else's turn. Gotta go bang my head on a wall.

allmusic.com has over 500 listings (including the various misspellings). Some are probably duplicates too.

500! Holy cow!

One was too many!

That rivals 'Louie Louie' for most recorded versions (now that's a good one- even the most famous version is a cover of a cover of a cover). Wonder which song has been covered the most?

There's got to be a couple hundred versions of 'Yesterday'

in case y'all bin wonderin, I've been kinda sick lately. haven't been on the forum much. got some kind of whooping cough. can't even get to the doctor till next Tuesday, even though I've had this for about a month. man it's hard to get an appt. lately. I guess I could go to emerg., but I hate losing 1 whole day of work just waiting with about 10 others for hours on end. This med system is falling apart, I swear. I don't mind a day off,…just can't afford one.

Sorry to hear that Manny, hope you get better soon.  You could always walk in the Dr's office and fall on the floor coughing like heck. Bet they'd check you out fast then! lol

Gary,I got curious and checked,Yesterday has been covered at least 3000 times! Got the same list on more than one site,Eleanor Rigby (who'd a thunk it!?) is listed in 2nd place and out of 10 songs 5 are Lennon connected.

Do a search "most covered song of all time" I was surprised by some of them.

Manny- forget work and get yourself fixed.

I see people all the time in ICU that 'couldn't spare a day off' and end up in the hospital for a week or two.

Consider it maintenance.

Gary

So is Yesterday #1 or was it something else? I'm going to have to look that list up.

Ok,… so am i really sick???  I actually like the 9 most covered songs. But I like the orig. versions, and yeah,…I could hear them again. maybe that is what fuels this engine. guys like me. Weird? or what? (I know–even that q? is copy cat)  A friend gave me a natural indian recipe for cough– and,…it instantly stopped the tickle and I felt my airways open.

what's with that?  (another one of those overused Q?'s)

Alright Manfred, Give!  Natural remedies are great cause they work. Will it work on a cold/cough?  Sandy is miserable, yet still working as WalMart (in my opinion) treats their employee's poorly.  Surely look forward to the day when we both can "retire" and only work on what we want.

Glad you got some relief!

Lloyd
