I'm not necessarily against a restomod, but at least do quality work! At least save the sheet metal!

Before I went to sleep, last nite, I was checking around on EBay and that snorkeled K Truck did not have one bid and there was just over 7 hours to go. There is very little there that has any value, to me, and the hood has been spoiled.

A local top-line specialty vehicle builder has made the top of his R120 removable and his work looks absolutely better than factory and has similar flavor to a Chevy SSR. His build-up has monster Cummins twin turbo power and meter tall tires, all connected by a custom frame.  His last Cummins IHC pickup was an eight second truck. I was for a ride in it and the acceleration took my breath away.  He claimed that my big butt took his time into the tens.  SORRY, lets go to McD's.

I like to see old trucks and cars treated with respect, and I don't mean that should be totally stock, always.

Love to see some pics of that bad boy!! I believe if want purist, do it. If you want to mod someting out, do it. I just think the object is to accentuate and compliment, or improve the vehicle at hand. Plan ahead, keep your end goal in mind and go for it. Don't get drunk with your buddies, shove one vehicle into another hastily and expect it to recieve anything but jeers. Don't cut away all the integrity and key elements of character out of your original vehicle and piece together a rolling piece of junk and call it a "custom".  If you're looking at investing the time, INVEST THE TIME. Nothing worthwhile comes easy…IMHO

LMI, I would agree with you. Some of those who have posted like to make their trucks look better than new, with a lot of extra chrome and such. Some of us want to see how much it will do, such as four wheeling, or pulling a load most pick-ups today couldn't begin to handle. Each viewpoint requires different parts, and ways to assemble the parts for the best effect. A ground-pounder might need a V-392, but a week-end cruiser could use a V-266 just as well. The thing about the truck that really had me against it, was the snorkle type carb. Whatever they were thinking, just doesn't seem well thought out. Granted, that's just my opinion, but with no bids on the truck, sounds like I'm not the only one…     Bill

Hey BMcPherson, That sorkle carb deal just "Don't make NO sense!" And the interior, mis-aligned wheelbase, and everything else, the snorkle carb is just the cherry on top. Anyway, one man's trash is another's treasure. I feel bad talking trash about it. Not my intent really. Everyone here loves International Harvester's of all types and years and I know NOBODY likes to see them molested. We try to preserve them, not perverse them….Sealed

I sometimes wake up at night screaming because in my nightmares someone is running around hacking up old Binders like a junkyard version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and then I surf around on the net because I can't sleep and it turns out IT'S TRUE!!!
