John, I looked at it with complete disbelief, and I agree with you. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! Plus, yuck! In my own opinion only, of course.     Bill

Does the carb double as a periscope?

I wouldn't write off the sheetmetal, that could be saved. The whole remote mounted carburator thing looks like a meth-head idea. I bet John sees crazy stuff like that all the time at work.

I own a 1954 R-132 dump truck and a KS-7 of unknown year.

i don't know…for some this "rat rod" thing is just an excuse to cut corners and throw together junk and try to make a buck off it…i'm not totally against it, i hate to see a good IH cab cut up like that…

Very strange–weird actually.  There is no accounting for tastes–even in Binders!  Some might say my clowncar is an abomination–but they haven't heard the calliope!       Clowncar

Use your imagination guy's… seal the ignition from water, seal the cab so it can be pressurized and you could drive in 6 ft. of water! Maybe add some torpedoes too!? LOL

Then since you could drive in/under water keel haul the moron that built it.

I'm guessing the builder set the truck up for getting to or into his favourite  fishing holes. Would not take much to turn it into a decent driver as the body looks good and has a good running engine,,new brakes and clutch. Does seem to have the front wheels too far forward

Like the old army 6x6's… they presureized the gas tank (so any leak would leak out, not in) and sealed the ign (useing aircraft type ign cables and plugs) then ran an air snorkle to keep water out of the intake, could/would run completely submerged.

There is a reason carbs are never mounted that far from the cyl…. bet it drives like hell, sumbleing and coughing.

NONONONONO!!!!!YellTongue outFrownCry

And there is nothing personal about this attack!

If you must do a body remount, at least spend the time to make it fit!

I was going to place an example but the clipboard seems not to be working right now, so can not post a pic.

Old age and treachery over comes youth and education, not to mention better judgement! My forgetter's workin' better, but my rememberer is broke! If it ain't broke don't fix it! OR If it ain't broke it can't be fixed! OR If it ain't broke, fix it anyway! OR Maybe I've got too many OLD IHC trucks!   http://www.magihcvintagetruck.ca/ Visit them here. OH Ya! Automatic means you can't fix it yourself!

This is the second worst case of body transplant I've ever seen. Mike knows the worst one I'm familiar with. It is a S110 on a Malibou frame with redi-rod and 2X4's .

In my old age, grant me the senility to forget the persons I never liked... the good fortune to run into the person I do... and the eyesite to tell the difference

That  truck has been molested in the worst way. Cry   Wonder what they cut the hole in the hood with,  a sawsall?   Now no one will want it,  the owner will lose interest as he has already and park in under a tree to rot.  With rain flowing into the motor thru the umbrella carb.     Now a parts truck at best.      "Really officer,  I did not see him comming in the blind spot behind my carb"!   I have seen better work on Demo Derby Cars.    If you are reading this and did this to your truck,  I disagree with your taste in modifications.   You ruined a good truck.   At least if you were going to wreck a truck is should have been a modern one.    If you want to drive a truck with "modern" systems then drive a newer truck.     Not to offend anyone out there who may chop up a truck but  if you want modern ride and comforts then drive modern.  If you want to be noticed because you have an old truck, then drive an old truck the way it rolled off the line!   Jusy my purist opinion.
