OfflineI know I have seen the explanination for using left-handed lug nuts in the forums before, but I thought this article was a very interesting breakdown of why they were initially used and the saftey studies that showed their value. Just an interesting read FYI….

Onlineinteresting. the question remains: are mopar owners so daft that they don't use a wrench and only finger tighten lug nuts? you would at least think that IHC owners were smarter.

OfflineUntil "hub pilot" wheels became popular about 20 years ago, all big truck disk wheels used left and right hand threads for the stud pilot wheels. Spokes always were right hand thread only, but they don't rely on the torque of the nut to keep the rims on, the wedges do that.
