There are a couple of places where it located on the van. The first is the build plates that a usually located above the passenger windshield near the wiper mount. The IH build plate with the build # and sometimes chassis # along with weight and horsepower ratings is the larger one. The smaller one is the body plate from the Metropolitan Body Co. of Connecticut. Its not usual for both to be missing.

If both are gone, the chassis is stamped with the build #. The stamp should be on the top side of the frame just behind the front driver side tire.

Do you a title for it and you're trying to match it or no title and you're trying to get it registered?

I am a Metro owner, therefore I must be a bit nuts… Proud owner and someday operator of: '52 LM-122 Metro van, 3/4 ton, mid-size '62 AMC-164 Metro Walk-in Cab Forward Control Chassis truck
