The Continuing Story About Pete the Truck

My truck became an unplanned member of our daughters wedding party.

Well. we could not take Pete to the Nowthen Threshing show last August as planned. It was a miserably wet and cold weekend. We are now old enough apparently, that we will not go out; attend functions if it is not going to be enjoyable. So we were a bit disappointed about that.

I had finished building a gazebo in our youngest daughter, Laura?s backyard, for their upcoming September wedding, and final preparations were being made for the day. They were to be wed in the gazebo, and then have the wedding party tables set-up in the yard around it and the head table inside of it.

One of the final things to be decided about the day, was how Laura was to make her entrance. Trevor, her fiance had already decided to drive onto the property on his restored IH 1086 at the appropriate time. That was his entrance. It was suggested by Trevor, that I deliver the bride to her wedding in Pete the truck. Trevor had found the truck for me earlier that summer, at a place in their neighborhood. So Pete went back to Hasty for the weekend. When the time came, daughter and I went out the front door of their house, hopped into Pete and drove around the corner to the back yard and a waiting wedding party. A most unusual limo ride for sure; but also very fitting for the day. And Pete then became the focal point for many photos that day. I am still planning a debut at the 2008 Nowthen Threshing Show. As soon as I figure out how; I will post some photos.
