I put a new seal in. I looked for numbers but didn't see any. Where are they supposed to be? I am pretty sure I have the 5:11 gears but would like to know for sure. Thanks.

there is also a flat surface on the housing that has numbers cast into it , and although anything could have been changed in the past you can use them to verify what you find by other methods stated in this thread . That's how it was on mine .

I have never ever seen a center section with the ratio "cast" into it, stamped, yes, cast no. The same casting is used for all available ratios, so the casting number will be the same regardless.
