Pistons
Been awhile since I was on here. My father in law and I finally reached an agreement on what to do with the truck (and cleared out all of our other unfinished projects) and are going to start working on our KB2.
I am considering making new pistons and rods and a head out of 6061 or 7075 aluminum at work (Im a machinist and have access to CNC and manual mills and lathes) My only concern is that many older pistons were elliptical instead of round. Does anyone know if the green diamond used round pistons, or the more complicated to make elliptical?
The idea is that the lighter weight parts will lose less power to parasitic loss and allow more power transfer to the tires and allow it to get to speed more quickly. Also Itd be cool to tell people that the only parts of the motor I didnt make are the block and crank
