As long as I was under 80K gross it was no problem. Registering after you get it home, most states base truck plates on gross weight, so yeah they can get pricy.

It would be a long slow trip, but, what about driving it back?

I can't believe that no one mentioned this yet. I feel like this forum used to be famous for that suggestion! I probably can't get enough time off at the new job to drive 600+ miles at 45 miles per hour plus breakdowns and at whatever terrible gas mileage this gets.... LOL!

Re: My new R180

Hmm. 600 miles at 45 mph is 13 1/3 hrs. Would it get 6 mpg? One day to get there, 2 days to get back. 100 gallons or so of gas. How are the tires, cooling system and electrical system? Personally, I'd be tempted.

Ha ha ha ha. It's currently registered and insured but without thorough testing who knows how well those parts might hold on a long journey. My nerves and blood pressure couldn't handle it!

I am with Dean466 on this one. Drive slow and the time and distance will pass soon enough. You may consider having someone follow you. If the truck breaks down in route you will be closer to home and the recovery will cost less than 600 miles cost.
Maybe it is time to walk away before you have any more time and possibly money in this Old IHC.

Walk away?! Are you off your rocker? I just bought it.... I'm not losing my money and not getting a truck.

Great truck, by-the-way! Congrats!
Just be patient; keep searching for transportation. Everything will work out; and, you'll be enjoying your truck, in no time.
I used U-ship for my R-120; and it worked out great.
