L-110 floor mat

Are templates available for the L-110 floor mats (with column shift) or is this a DIY job? Assuming it is DIY, are there any forum members out there that have successfully completed this process with any helpful measuring suggestions or recommended floor covering choices? I'm guessing a paper template would be a sensible way to go.

Re: L-110 floor mat

Years ago I was able to buy a rubber floormat for my L. I can't for the life of me remember where I ordered it though.

Don't forget, you 'mericans get an automatic 40% discount because of our devalued dollar.

Mr Nikki - you know I ain't no 'merican! My truck is actually an AL-110 so I sit on the other side of the seat when I drive. Bang my elbow on the door when changing gear. I do not want to buy floor mats - it can't be that hard to make some?

Re: L-110 floor mat

The OEM floor mat is not flat but formed to fit the floor. To get a proper fit the material of your choice may have to be made from multiple sections and joined. You may need 4 separate pieces.
An automotive carpet may be easier to work with. I cut the carpet for my 1940 Ford. Each of the 5 sections needed binding sewn around the perimeter. Easy to do.
Maybe you could have posted your International as an AL?

Chelty110, I'll help out someone from the Commonwealth! Will take out the floor mat of the Grandfather's truck tomorrow & go from there. Take some measurement's of it for you. If you pm an email address, will send you pictures of it. By the way AL models interest me.

Gudgeon Pin - you sound like a man from the antipodes ie a get on and do it man. I will pm you and look forward to your help. The Al-110 floor covering is a "mirror image" to the L-110 so I can't just go and order one from OldInternational, whom I have bought from in the past and I have nothing but praise for their service.

Re: L-110 floor mat

George that owns Southland International(OldInternational) is great wealth of IH truck history & parts. I guarantee there isn't someone that knows more about restoring IH trucks back to the way they were built. If ever in the Lethbridge Alberta area make sure you contact him to see his personal collection. Pretty sure he has sort close to one model that IH ever built. Last time I was there over 50 restored trucks of all sizes & shapes. Heard its up towards 65 trucks now, he does pretty much all the work himself. Also has yard of dead IH trucks for parts or the next one inline for repair.
