1929 Six Speed emblem

I picked up a radiator surround for my 1929 SSS. It is missing the triple diamond badge. the question that I have is the hole for the badge in the radiator surround is round where the emblems have two squarish tabs. Do the square tabs go in the round hole? Or is it the wrong badge?

Thanks

Don't know what badge you have but the originals had a cap soldered onto the emblem that kept it in the hole? The reproduction badges come with a washer and a nut. Hope this helps, but most original badges you will find that have been pried off are of course, missing the cap.

Found what you are describing, yes it's the wrong badge, the one you described is not for a Six Speed Special, its not flat enough.

From the parts thread-

*Source Address: Ray & Val Smith [ray.val.smith@gmail.com]

*Phone Number:
*Comments: They sell both the flat type triple diamond for the mid 20's and also the bent type for the C model

I don't know if this is still good information.

Sorry to say but Ray has sold out of these now and from what I have been told the dies where accidently thrown out by the company he was getting them manufactured by.

Re: 1929 Six Speed emblem

So I bought the emblem off of ebay. $42 so i thought that was fair. It is in really good condition actually other than the chipped paint. Now how does the badge mount to the radiator shell? Does the button come off or is there some other clip?
