Re: politic on the board

The news reported an animal right group were having a rally against animal abuse. The animal rights group had a hamburger and hotdog BBQ to raise money.

Re: politic on the board

I fail to see any humor, hypocrisy, or irony here. As a retired dairy farmer I always prided myself in treating my animals humanely. I applaude others that do so. Just because you support animal rights doesn't mean you are against using animals as a food source, only that you would like to see them treated well during their existence before slaughter.

I am disgusted every time I drive past my neighbors dry cow lot and see his mistreated beasts with docked tails fighting off insects, wallowing in the mud trying to find a suitable place to have their calf and then being ignored till he decides he has time to tend to them.

By the same token I don't eat veal or lamb. I feel every animal should be able to reach maturity before being slaughtered, not confined and force fed. Just my personal take on things, eat whatever you like.

I eat beef, pork, eggs, chicken, wear leather boots, have a leather belt and when I had to put an animal down because of sickness or injury, I always did it in the most painless manner available and with respect and a heavy heart as I pulled my pistol out of it's leather holster.

If you find what I have written conflicting, I have to assume you are ignorant of what the greater percentage of animal rights people are trying to accomplish and are just basing your opinion on a very small percentage of them that throw blood at people wearing furs and other disgusting acts that draw bad publicity and make them all look bad.

Kind of like saying all Canadians are "Seal Slappers".

I'm with you, I like my beef and pork, but want it raised humanely.

Re: politic on the board

No opinion from me. I was repeating the news.
Can you explain? "dry cow lot and see his mistreated beasts with docked tails fighting off insects, wallowing in the mud".
