DRILLBIT GUIDE AND DEPTH STOP

Here is a little trick that took 15 minutes to make. It is a drill guide that supports a #43 bit and limits it penetration. The extended length can protect paint and reach those places where a drill motor cannot fit.
Many persons have punctured their hand while using a file without a proper handle. Here is a second use for a tap wrench. Very inexpensive tap wrenches can be had in both three and four jaw. There is a tap wrench size to fit just about every file. Take the tap wrench off and move it to another file.

Re: DRILLBIT GUIDE

So does the drill guide spin? If not, what keeps it from spinning? I really like the file holder tip!

Re: DRILLBIT GUIDE

The guide is driven by the drill motor which turns the drill bit. I ground a slight flat on the bit so the setscrew has something to grip. The length of the stick-out of the bit can be adjusted about 8-10mm. The drill bit is at risk of being bent or broken when it breaks through and hit the curves inside of the garnish mouldings we were working on.

Re: DRILLBIT GUIDE

Could a person put a small flat roller "bearing"(like a lazy susan" at the top of the guide and then that remains stationary and the drill bit is the only thing moving while in the "fuzzy" stuff or around paint?

MAGNITO SPRING TOOL

This tool is a little something I made. I use it to safely rewind the recoil springs in the magnetos used on IHC LB engines.
