1956 S120 4x4 box length?

I have a 1956 S120 4x4 with 127" Wheelbase. I think the S120 had 3 or 4 different wheelbase lengths. I am wondering what the correct length of the box should be for my truck and am looking for the correct one. Does anyone know or have a truck like mine they can measure?

I can measure my wheelbase and box if this looks close to yours. Mine is approximately a 6' box I have also seen pictures of the ''S'' 4 by's with 8' boxes. I believe Kevin's is an eight footer. Here's mine:

Is the wheelbase listed on the serial tag of yours?

According to what I found, your truck came in 4 w/b lengths----------115", 122", 127", and 134".
Don't ask me how I got to this site,, but maybe it'll help:

http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/cdm ... 5855/rec/7

Look closely at the column on the right side, there's a listing for " S120, 4x4, 1956 "

let me re-type that ( it's not showing up correctly----don't know why )------

OK, I don't know what's wrong-----maybe too many characters in that line ???----it's leaving out some of what I type in----hattrick, I will email you the complete line

Re: 1956 S120 4x4 box length?

oldihfan, the link is shortened, but still active as though it were the original length. Some forum software does that automatically.

The 115", 127" and 134" wheelbases correspond to the 6', 8' and 9' box. The 122" was cab and chassis only. As far as I know, the S120 2wd was available only in 115" and 127" wheelbases.

Ah, yes, Dean-----I see what you mean. Well, in any case, I hope it helps hattrick a wee bit. :-)

Thanks. Looks like I need an 8 footer.

Just for the record I worked on my truck today, took a look at the ID tag and the wheelbase is 115" and the box is 6'.
