I need a new horn for my truck, a look around the internet isn't turning up anything I like, anybody buy a 6 volt horn recently that made decent db's and had some size to it like the originals?

Re: 6 Volt Horn

I have possibly three OEM IHC horns. One is a single straight round horn. The second unit is a DELCO dome and snail trumpet style. The third is a twin Delco Dome set with the snail trumpets. Shipping from Western Canada will be heart stopping expensive. If anyone else want these horns, they are free for pickup. Lloyd might be up this way in a month or two. I will give then to him to take home to the USA. I will never use the horns.

Binder Mike- Sorry- I checked and the extra horn I have does not work well- very weak sound. It is a Delco-Remy and about 12 inches long.- Stickman 207

Re: 6 Volt Horn

It is very likely that old horn is adjustable. It is better and possibly important to test that old horn after it is mount. Holding the horn in a bench vise is good enough for a test. The vibrating parts can cause the horn body to move and lessen the impact of the noise making components. Example : a Sawzall works better if held firmly.
