R112 Starter needed

Trying to save a 1955 R112. The starter I have has multiple issues. Does anyone have a functional starter they would be willing to part with? Is so please message me.

Wish I were home, I probably have several that would work. You might wait to see if Bedrockjon responds, he is over your direction.

Re: R112 Starter needed

Try this guy. I gave him dozens of starters. He is in Canada. 321bust@gmail.com His name is Mike AKA MAGIHC MIKE. He will ship
Bedrock Jon is often a good source and he is in the USA.
If I remember correctly, there are two different starter styles. I do not know if they interchange. The difference is in the length of the body between the motor and the mounting flange. One is about twice as long as the other.

I got the selenoid freed up as it was frozen. The brush cap end is siezed onto the armature shaft. Still have it soaking. I did communicate with Jon. He does have a couple but not for sale. I will check the source you provided and watch online. Thanks

Have you taken it to a rebuild shop? Mine sat for 35 Years and starter wasn’t doing a thing and they rebuilt it for $100.

I have not yet. If i can get the end cap freed up it may work just fine. May resort to that though.

Re: R112 Starter needed

Someone I knew needed a starter for an LV IHC, which is similar to an RD starter, which I had. After boxing it up so I could send it to him and could get an estimate on shipping, the "core" used starter I was going to give him for free would have cost him close to $100!
If your serious about rescuing that truck, you might be money ahead to get the starter overhauled. Unless you have someone close by you can "barrow" one from, and return it once yours is back from the rebuilder!
You can always push or pull start it if you want to hear it run!

CB, you must mean borrow. Barrow refers to making a pile of dirt over a grave.

Good catch Nikki, I have been accused of abusing spell-check programs, and if it a correct word, it will not hit on it. As I age my spelling has suffered as has my typing. SO don't bury your starter in a barrow, see if you can "dig one up" from a friend!

Or a castrated pig, which might better describe some of my projects. ;)
