I'm trying to find a clutch kit for a 51 L110. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I sent my L130 somewhere to be resurfaced I think... But have you looked at Phoenix friction?

Re: clutch kit

Most larger cities will have at least one automotive clutch rebuilding business. I have sent off a number of clutch assemblies to be rebuilt in this manner for older vehicles that don't have clutch packs readily available. The nearest to me is 150 miles away in Albuquerque but I do it by mail and get quick tun around service. My local NAPA auto parts store has a really good machine shop and they turn all my flywheels.

Re: clutch kit

When I lived around Chicago, I used "Surge Friction" in Harvey, Ill. They knew clutches! I once went in with an odd ball clutch and laid it on the counter, before I could tell them the application, he looked at it and said "Peugeot"! Spot on and not very common!
They would also custom build clutches. I was having a problem with damper spring breaking on my semi clutches used in heavy- haul. The last thing you want is a clutch to go out under a super load. They built me some ridged disks for my clutch. The down side with ridged disks is they tend to wear the input shaft spline, but are less likely to fail and leave you stranded. It took care of clutch failure problems. I have since gone back to dampened disks as I no longer do heavy haul.
I never had a clutch wear out on me in a semi, it was always disk or cover failures!

Re: clutch kit

When I worked in dealer parts in Louisville, KY we used Kentucky Clutch, 250 Gun Club Road in Brooks, KY...zip 40109. Quality products there, and quality work.

Our parts driver would take the flywheel in first, and by the time he returned to the truck, grabbed the clutch and brought it in for the exchange, they'd have the freshly resurfaced flywheel on the counter.

This rings a bell. This might be where I sent mine.
