1953 R-112 Wiring Harnesses

I want to re-wire my 1953 R-112. The only place I have found wiring harnesses is travelallparts and for all 3 harnesses (main, light, starting control) it is $610 before shipping and $660 with shipping. These have the plastic covering and not the cloth. I am fine with that. Is this the best place (cost and quality) to get these harnesses? I have not been able to locate another source online. Seems to be very expensive but I suppose I don't have many options.

Thanks for the link. Ron Francis has a universal 6 volt wiring harness kit that includes a modern fuse block. I called and spoke to them about it. This is much cheaper. Do you see any reason why I shouldn't go this route?

IMO, you can't go wrong with Ron Francis for auto-wiring parts and tech.

I'm about to rewire my L and plan on making my own harness for it, using the original as the template.

Rhode Island wiring might be worth checking into. Their website lists a lot of International vehicles. It says oem quality with original wrapped wiring

I was fortunate enough to get my harness from "Pappy" Vance it is matched to original design.
Cloth covered and tape wrapped. Numbered as the IH had laid out in the service manual.
If you look close on the generator, the terminals are sleeved right up to the ring.
Same way on the starter, horn, lighting terminal block and voltage regulator.
Quite simple appearance as it should be. My motto is KISS .
Not a difficult install just take your time. Wire by number.
IMHO nothing worse looking than a clean engine compartment with poor wiring.
Never use plastic sleeving or ty-wraps- tight black tape wrap is the way to go with metal clips to
hold in place along the fenders. Clean sweeps onto terminals..

Re: 1953 R-112 Wiring Harnesses

Pappy passed away some years ago truly a good man and
full of IHC knowledge. He supplied me with much of my
parts during restoration.
I hesitate to recommend anyone else , though one supplier out of
Washington state is Outback parts , I have had very similar good experience with.
