Re: rewiring R150

Thank you guys. I have done some Farmall tractors, so I thought I would give a truck a try. May look good with a red Farmall on it when done.
Have a Merry Christmas

Re: rewiring R150

Happy New Year,
Wiring has begun. So far the Universal 6V Ron Francis kit is very acceptable. Wires are well marked and directions are clear. Being universal it comes with some plug and play, many extra wire ends for modifications to fit the application and so far wires have needed shortening rather than lengthening which is a good thing. It even included a new light switch. An upcoming challenge will be getting all my control knobs to match but that is for another day.
Attached are pics of the progress. Keep in mind, we are still under construction at this point.
Hope this can help others

Re: rewiring R150

I like to use these DELPHI Weatherpack bulkhead connectors. They make the through firewall connection look very professional. This Amazon price is in Canadian $$ so the price may be different in US.

If I do not use the Ron Francis wiring, with the magnetic base, I will be epoxying neodymium magnets to a metal backing plate so the fuse block can be held to the firewall, then fuse block can be taken down for a better look.
I like to use a wire loom self wrap cover called TECHFLEX F6. This product looks braided and has a nice vintage look. https://www.cabletiesandmore.ca/BraidedSleeving.php
I do not like the plastic wrap. https://www.cabletiesandmore.ca/black-wire-looms-40
I think your workmanship is very good.

Re: rewiring R150

Thank you for the kind words guys. Dean, you just need to get on it. lol. Nikki, thanks for the links. I don't care for the plastic loom either although I have used it some on tractor projects. The F6 looks similar or same as some I have on order at Ron Francis. I just ordered some short pieces to see what it is like. Quite a bit more expensive at Ron's. After seeing the F6 in your link I found, wirecare.com, has it also with smaller quantities available. It looks good and appears easy to work with.
Thanks guys
Dennis
