Cab Headliner

I was wondering if anyone might have a headliner for a 56 cab laying around and would have the time to trace it and make a pattern for me. Say make it out of paper so it can be folded up small and put in a mailer pouch? I'll pay postage.

Re: Cab Headliner

Do it yourself. It is easy enough. Go to Staples or Office Depot and buy some light card stock. Bid pieces are better than 8.5"X11". Use lots of tape to fasten pieces of card stock around the outline of the headliner. I would advise against buying the same pressed cardboard that IHC used, unless you live in a dessert. If there is any moisture the cardboard will swell and fall in.
I went to BABIC POLIMER SHAPES and bought several ABS plastic sheets. I use the ABS in 1/16" for upholstery backing. In an IHC pickup this plastic can be used in place of the original cardboard. One side is textured and the other side is smooth.
After cutting and fitting the headliner, I like to place a weight in the middle of the ABS headliner then pour boiling water on the plastic. The ABS sheet will sink a little and then hold that shape when it cools.
I am not going to add more information at this time. If you decide to go this route I have more easy match and fit tricks.
BABCO POLIMER SHAPES is in dozen of locations across North America. Use GOOGLE to find a location near you. BABIC SHIPS.
When all else fails, you can order a new headliner from southland international trucks in Alberta, Canada https://oldinternationaltrucks.com/part ... 1950-1956/

I suppose I was looking for the easy way out. I do have a large roll of rosin paper left over from a flooring job I think I'll try some of that for the pattern. I like the ABS idea for the finished product.

That $119 is in Canadian funds. This it just over $90 US.
I have been playing with cars and truck for nearly 60 years. Seldom has there ever been an "easy" way out. Lots of luck to you.

Wow, that's expensive stuff! The last I checked you can get something quite similar at Lowe's or Home Depot for about $25 for a 4'X8' sheet, although that's been 2 or 3 years ago. The hot water is a good idea. A guy I know let it sit in the hot summer sun for about an hour.
