SD 220 Engine Weight

I'm looking at getting a SD 220 shipped to me and I was wondering if someone could tell me the approximate weight of one of these engines?

Finding the weight of an SD220 is not easy. I did find several weights that range between 762 and 800 pounds. I am not surprised by these numbers. I have taken a few SD220 engines out with a shop crane and the lift makes a cherry picker work hard. A Cummins 4bta weighs less. I bought a crane scale and I will get exact numbers at my first opportunity.
I installed an IH 6.9 V8 Diesel in an R120. This engine is 400 pounds heavier than the SD220.

Numbers vary but CTS-11 gives the SD-220 weight at 607 bare and 673 with accessories. Oddly enough the later BD/BG220 comes in at 549/635 according to the IH Motor Manual. 4bta might be 750-800 depending upon who you believe.

I have an accurate crane scale and a 4bta . I will get some numbers in the near future.
I just called my friend Mike. He has shipped a few SD220 engines. The weight numbers mentioned in a previous post are close enough.
Our Cummins 4bta weighs 762# complete with a torque converter.
