BG240 breather tube conversion

The breather tube that comes off the side of the engine is real close to my mounting of the new 7” power brake booster. Has any one changed this tube to a PCV valve? And where do you run the other end of the tube to..The carburetor air filter case? I read somewhere on here a while back someone doing this but it didn’t go into detail. I do also know IH changed to a pcv system on the 241 and I found a picture of the pcv and the tube but they never showed the other end connection.

I Googled positive crankcase ventilation and got information, schematics and pictures.

PCV system needs two connection, a source of filtered air for a inlet and an outlet connected to A PCV valve and onto the intake manifold.
Filtered air can come from the "clean" side of the engine air filter or can have its own. It just needs to keep dust out of the crankcase area.
They work best if the inlet and outlet are far apart so as to draw the most combustion gases out ( fully scavenge the area)
My K 7-s are almost stone stock, but I install PCV systems, they keep the oil much cleaner and prevent moisture build up in the crankcase.
How you achieve the two connections is really up to you. On the RD series the PCV is connected to the oil fill pipe in the tappet cover and the fresh air is drawn in the thru the rocker cover.. On my BLD's have one end of the rocker cover with a 1/4" NPT port that I put a PCV valve in and fresh air is drawn in the filler that has a mesh in the cap.

Thanks guys for the information and Kevin for the link. Found a bunch more articles of the conversion on 50’s Chevy and Ford trucks plus one for the early Corvette. Same setup but I am not buying their premise kit, ouch $.

Here’s the reason to change this down tube to a pcv system. I’m installing a 7” brake booster with a dual master cylinder, it is tight but it fits.

A PCV system is 100% a plus, there is no drawback to them, so I would recommend even if space wasn't tight.

I had a early 60's Fiat Cabro that had the neatest little remote mount hydrovac, a pair of them would make a neat little install The diaphragm was about the size of a semi's brake pancake, and was secured the same way with a band.
That little Fiat had same disk's that a Jag V 12 had on the front, and big 2 1/2" x 11 or so drums on the rear, aluminum drums with an iron band cast in.

I'd love to see the bracket for mounting the master and booster...because I'd love to keep my stock pedals.

I mocked this up with the stock mount, cut off the rivets and moved it back. I now have the location of where it needs to mount so now I can make a heavier mount identical to the stock one but a little wider. The booster comes with a bracket for a Chevy pickup which I am going to use also. This picture is a little hard to see it but if you enlarge it you get the idea.
