Re: BG240 breather tube conversion

The later BG241s had PVC systems from the factory. A look at the parts book would show how the factory did it.

Ksever,
Did you ever get anything going or finished on your PB setup, also, is your pedal all the way down in the picture. I assume you switched your brake push rod to the other side of the cantilever.

Re: BG240 breather tube conversion

I am in the process of rebuilding the brake system on my 50' L110. It has the breather tube in the way and the column shifter linkage mounts to the stock mc. I want to add a dual mc and booster, but I have less room than floor shift models. I intend to keep the tranny original. Any ideas or advice ?

Re: BG240 breather tube conversion

Sorry, I answered Kevin in an email. I got this setup at Classic Performance Parts out of California. Modified the stock master cylinder mount by adding/welding more steel plate to it to make the mount more stiff. I originally had column shift but switched to a floor mount IH 4 speed transmission. You need the space that the column shift linkage uses for this.
If you get creative you could probably mount the master cylinder along the frame on the back side of the pedal but you would have to make a reversing pedal linkage and an access hole under the seat. I believe the 40-50’s ford trucks did this.

I’ll get more pics today of the brake pedal and finished mounting of this unit.
