Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Does anyone know where I can get a new oil pressure sending unit for my 1950 L110 that it is compatible with the original oil gauge?

They come up on Ebay once in a while. Ford used King Seeley gauges, but I don't know if an old Ford 6V sender would work or not. Might be a possibility.

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit

this very thing right here is why I tell folks to pull the "smalls" off of any engine they are going to scrap. For the OP, are you sure the sender is not working? Pull out and soak in some solvent, at least that was a suggestion I got some years ago. Make sure that your gauge is still good, no more that about 6 volts to see if needle moves. Just some thoughts. Others will have more ideas.

I am not sure, but the wire coming out of it is frayed and it goes into the unit so I don't know how to replace that wire.

I think I found my problem. The wire isn't even connected to the gauge any more.

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit

you can run a wire from sender to gauge, leave frayed one disconnected on each end, you can wrap with electrical tape if you want, until you do a complete rewire,

I wouldn't use the frayed one, you can burn out your gauge and sender in short second,

Yeah I was just going to replace the old wire with a new one.

I replaced the old wire, however, when I got the truck running, the gauge still didn't move. What should I do?

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Have you checked your gauge to make sure it is good? If bad, a picture of it, and someone probably has one. Others will speak up.
