Gas tank original colour?L130

Hi
So finally decided enough was enough and after a handful of gas filters and still big pieces of crud coming from tank its time to pull it down and do a proper POR 15 cleaning and lining.
Question is while its off the truck what is the correct colour to paint the tank and its brackets? If black, was it gloss black or flat black or other?

Think they were more of a simi-gloss to flat black. What do you think would look good with your paint scheme? I have seen folks paint them the same color as the rest of the rig, I have seen them gloss black. Others may have a better answer for you.

Pulled one from the yard a few weeks back - semigloss black.

Add a little pride to your work and go rainbow.

There is no colour left just a rusty patina, this is why i dont want it to be over board on the look of being Newly painted

I've been toying with throwing in a little personality and painting mine faded red with yellow printing...a takeoff from the old gas cans, and would match the faded red of the truck...faded red/yellow could be the new semi-gloss black. ;)

This is just a thought along the lines of " fff " ----------" form follows function ". What about either silver ( aluminum ) or white ?? Reason: Tho only a small portion of the tank is exposed to direct sunlight, it will reflect that sunlight much better than any other color, thus minimizing the thermal difference INSIDE the tank, leading to a lower incidence of condensation, and so less likelihood of your fuel becoming contaminated with water.

Just my 2-cents worth...........
