:t0129: Honestly, I had a good time and learned a lot. It's time to move on, though. No hard feelings, here.

I'm on the other side of the planet from you gentlemen. I still have my 1953 AL-110 running on 6v positive ground and a mechanical fuel pump. When it causes me some/more problems I will look at changing it and I sincerely hope when/if those problems occur that all you learned gentlemen are still contributing to this forum and debating the issues to the benefit of us all as that is how we "rookies" (an expression we don't really use down here) learn. My thanks to you all.

Re: My batteries keep dying and won't recharge!

There are at least three stores in town here that stock 6 volts in group 1, 2, 4 and 3EH. Prices are the same for "commercial" batteries" regardless of voltage. There are other stores that I don't frequent that also may stock them, I ...
Whats the difference in the groups ??...........

The physical size of the batteries.
My posts contain my own opinions...your mileage may vary, void where prohibited, objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear, and alcohol may intensify any side effects.

I put a group 2 in my KB-1 panel, with fat cables and ground to starter mount bolt, thing spins almost as fast as 12v. and doesn't drain nearly as fast, totally worth it,

put 6v. halogen headlight bulbs in and you'll swear you went 12 volt,
