Thank you everyone for the help. Could someone reply with a link for a 6 volt battery that is the right size for my 1950 L110? I would greatly appreciate it!

A group 1 will be 9 1/8" long, a Group 2 will be 10 3/4" long, all other dim will be the same. so measure the battery box and see if it is 7 1/8 by 11 or 7 1/8 x 9 1/2" that will tell which size will fit.

Unless you re set the regulator to 9.8 volts you will never recharge that battery and will be constantlly dis chargeing while driveing, 6 volt can crank the RED 450 when new, so can crank a "tight" 269 or 308. AT 9.8 you risk overheating a 6 volt coil and loosing spark. I could go on, but if the idea is to make a reliable truck, either fix the 6 volt syystem correctly, or do the work to convert to 12 volt, with the necessary protection for the 6 volt stuff that can't be replaced with 12 volt. 8 volt just adds problems. It is like haveing a leak in a water pipe, and instead of fixing it, jacking up the pressure to get the same flow at the fauset.

My truck just has a plate that the battery sits on.

Well, measure that and see if the Grp 2 will sit on it, there should be something to hold the battery in place so it doesn't move around while going down the road. I don't have a truck of your model so can't go check myself.

Ok I will go check. There probably would have been a strap to hold it down but that is missing.

Group 2 will fit, a group 4 is 13 1/8 so will not.

I noticed that on the battery where it gives the part number it says "1-6VOLT" could that 1 mean group 1?
