T-98 brake cable mount

Got this T98 transmission a couple weeks ago. It has the trans brake which I already took off to clean but I never saw where the guy took the cable bracket off from. Any body have a picture of theirs mounted? I have searched this site and only come up with a picture showing the other style of brake lever mounted on the side like Carl has.

KSever,
There is an option for the 4 speed in the S-110/112, but it is like Carl's. Do you what know year your 4 speed came out of? It may be easier to get a body trans cover and lever mount assembly. Just my thoughts. Otherwise, send me your cell in a PM, and I can send pics from the S manual, finding a cable might be difficult.
Also the part in the pic with the clamp on it does not match.

Thanks Kevin,
I have the cable and the bracket that holds the cable just don't know where the bracket mounts to on the transmission.

I can climb under mine and take photos of the brackets this weekend.

It possible that the T98 option did not an under dash hand brake? Every T98 I have owned had a transmission mounted brake lever. My old IHC parts catalog supports this.
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have

Well, I don’t know what to tell you Niki. This cable and cable mount came from the truck I got the T98 trans off of. I just didn’t see where the guy took the bracket off of and there are no markings where it was mounted but I grabbed the mount when the guy laid it on the ground.
I saw a cable shown in the parts manual for a 55 IH pickup with a T98 parts manual I downloaded but it didn’t go far enough out to show the bracket for the cable.

Re: T-98 brake cable mount

I am guessing it fits on the 3 bolts on the back passenger side of the transmission. Do you have the driveshaft mounted e-brake drum and clamp assembly from the back of the transmission?

Re: T-98 brake cable mount

Full disclosure, my tranny is not a T98, but rather a three speed. I imagine that a bracket could be adapted to make the brake work with an under the dash handle though. So hopefully mine will at least serve as a rough guide of what you'll need.

Re: T-98 brake cable mount

Does your rear axle have "park brake" on it? The trucks I have seen with a brake handle on the left under the dash, have had the "park brake" cable go to a y-yoke that then goes to each back wheel to manually activate the brake drums. I have only seen the "park brake" on the transmission with the lever coming up through the floor next to the shifter. Following are the pictures from a T-98 with "park brake" and the connection mechanisms.
