I ran shallow struct under the screw lines and attached with 3/8 round heads with fender washer.
Not cheap around 4 bucks per board foot when I installed it back in 06 but holds up very well..

Thanks for this input on the wood bed, that really looks good.

I've been doing a little research and have a few things,not a complete search at this time.

It appears at this time that the aluminum is the cheapest, easiest, lightest and quickest to install. I have found one place I can get a single sheet locally for; Aluminum Floor Plate – ¼” thick x 55” x 78” – 1 piece @ $359.08 each.

I believe if I can find a sheet of steel close to this price, the weight would make it not beneficial.

At LMC Truck a short bed wood kit (Oak) is $390.00, plus strip kits $40 - $140 and that does not include nuts and bolts and stuff.
