Jemiller33- you may find some suitable pics in my resurrection thread in the build-off section. I had to repair both sides on my truck as well. I think it was late ‘13 to early ‘14 when I repaired them.

I used 18ga. to repair those same general areas of my truck. For a few bucks you can get a gauge to measure metal thickness. Eastwood sells them and you can find them in other places. I think you could even look online and get one. Depending on your location, flea markets that offer tool sales, are another possibility. Look around, ask around. They’re not hard to find.

I found an el-cheapo digital one from Horror Fright and it has worked well as long as I keep it in a warm spot when I'm not using it.
