Rear end in an R160

Image

This is my second truck and am curious about the 2 speed rear end are these operated with planetary gears inside or what ? I've never had the opportunity to look at the inner workings of them.

Yes Bruce, as the drawings illustrate, In high speed the ring gear is directly engaged to the differential carrier. In low, there is a planetary speed reduction between the two.
