what exactly is R112?

Can someone tell me what makes a 112 a 112? What are the differences between a 100/110/112?
My door tag says R-112 115 WB SD220. Sorry if this sounds elementary but I cant find the answers elsewhere.

That text says that an R-112 has a gvwr of 5400 lbs. My door tag says that this particular truck has a gvwr of 4200 lbs.
Ever seen that?

I do not have an answer.

Within a series, gvw is determined by what springs, brakes, tires and rim were spec'd.
I have 2 K-7's one has a gvw of 16,000 and one has 21,000. the tires,rims and rear brake cyl are smaller on the lighter one.

basically a R-112 is a R-110 with overload springs added and 4 speed,, Now,,,disclaimer ,,,,,as these trucks were rolling down the assembly line things were designated but not always added,

So, a R-112 Could be missing over load springs, or have a 3 speed instead,

I had a L-112 panel with 3 speed and overloads, but dash had shift pattern sticker for a 4 on the floor,

but it came from the factory a 3 speed, there was Zero chance it was converted from 4 to 3 after the fact,

The R 110 has a shorter wheel base than the R 112.
