Tigwelder, If you'll go to the forum Home page, scroll down to other links, you'll find Irish Mike's Gangster International website. Go to his site and you'll find the parts manual for your truck. You can book mark it for future reference or download it.

By outer seal do you mean the one in the nut (it's removable) ?
58540H IH

6090S National

Did a search of the Nat'l pn and surprisingly it looks to be available, most of the other outer nut seals aren't.

I used the PDF version of SKF's & Timken's printed cross reference catalogs when I did all the seals. The nut seal doesn't cross to SKF in any form. Timken uses the same pn's as National.
Do the 6090s' you bought have any numbers on the seal itself? Could be packaged wrong?

Maybe try contacting the mfr. customer or tech service?

The seal specs can be found in this Timken catalog under 2.00" shaft.

Re: rear axle seals 51 L-120

the seal is pictured in mt-63 manual on this website .L-120-L130. it seals around nut seal and against axle flange.i thought I had wrong seal till I saw it in picture then I could see where it left a shiny spot around axle shaft. the other side of seal must go around nut seal flange and compresses against axle flange when tightening bolts.when I pulled my axles these seals were not there. look at the pictures an tell me what you think. thanks

Re: rear axle seals 51 L-120

I know exactly what the seal looks like,I sold 100's of them for various axles. It is removable from the nut, which should be obvious since you have some.
The link in my original post also has a pic plus the specs.,check them against the nut measurements (groove + OD/ID) and the spindle diameter. Do they match the seals you bought?
FYI,
Don't pay too much attention to the "applications" though, the list is way too wide ranging model number wise and just doesn't make sense. It doesn't even list any 120's or 1200's and those are models I found the IH numbers listed under in IH parts manuals.
That is why I stress people use an IH manual first.

I asked if there are any numbers on the new ones for a reason,do they match the 6090?

If the correct seals can't be had you can revert back to felt like was used in the K and earlier series, which would have to be made/cut to size. McMaster-Carr has a rather large selection of 12" square sheets in many thicknesses.
Coat with grease...

Or another alternative, find an o-ring that fits the groove and is thick enough to seal against the axle flange. I think a square cut o-ring would work best for that method.
