What's This??

What would this chrome hood piece be called & any clue as to where to find them? Salvage yards in my area are no help, apparently I have the only IHC truck in all of Central TX.

Thanks in advance!

Re: What's This??

those are the jet intakes on an S series, they went so much faster than R or L series they had to add intakes :t0201: :t0213:

actually they are trim to make sense of the new style hood on the old style cab, older L, & R hoods had a bulge along bottom that matched body contour, S series eliminated that bulge. they all share the same cab,,,more or less.

bad news is they are hard to find, good news is they are the same on larger trucks, so if someone is parting a big ol farm truck somewhere they will fit your pickum up.

Re: What's This??

I understand they're trim pieces.. Was curious if there was an official name for them so I can narrow my internet search results down.

I may have to build my own I guess.... thanks for the jet intake laugh though! :)

what side do you need? or both? I search nation wide withe searchtempest.com & statewidelist.com

you'll find one or both eventually, I'll keep an eye out too.

It's a bit of a hike from central Texas (not sure what part you're in) but CTC Autoranch in Denton has a pretty good selection of internationals (yea, I know that's north Texas). If you're down near Seguine there was a junk yard out there with a few but I don't remember the name. I never actually got down there from Hood but I saw some on their website.

Saw this one today. Not much cheaper than the one Brj spotted but it's in better condition.

Four-Six - I'm near Austin...

Thanks everyone for helping locate, now that Ive got to fitting the hood I'm finding that I'll have to make my own due to some hood issues a stock piece isn't going to fit right.

Re: What's This??

It took me forever to find one of these for my S-140. I just kept searching ebay for 'international hood trim'. The S series was only made for about 1.5 years, from late 55 thru the first part of 57
