Book on restoring a L series pickup

right before I went in for Cancer surgery last fall I went into a junk store and found this book,

Being a IHC guy I bought it to read during recovery, guy is kind of an interesting writer,

goes on alot about other stuff, especially his International Freezer and IHC spokes lady Irma Harding,

it's still a good read, not a technical how to, but just his experiences

Cool. Amazon has the book:

http://www.amazon.com/Truck-Love-Story- ... hael+perry

I just ordered a hardback in Very Good condition for 6 cents plus $3.99 for shipping.

Also, I remember my grandpa in Washington state had and giant international chest freezer in his basement!

Some of his other books are good too, especially "Population 485" about being a volunteer firefighter in a small town, and "Visiting Tom" about his visits with his old farmer neighbor.

Re: Book on restoring a L series pickup

If I remember right, this book was "found" by another member on the old Forum, about three years ago(?) I think he offered it up as a lend, read, and pass on to another. Not sure what happened to that book, but know the Forum went through some rough times and Book and Member are gone from my memory.
I do remember them saying it was an enjoyable book.

I think I was one of the last ones to participate in that pay it forward book lend deal. I know I passed it on, but I can't remember to who...

John

ps: keep in mind, not a technical book, but more a slice of life around his truck experience. Good read.

I know the guy you are referring to. He is from southern Ohio and was on the old forum. Last time I saw him he got frustrated with the log on process in the transition of the new forum. I emailed him this AM hopefully he will try again.

Thanks Terry! It will be nice if he does come back. If anyone knows of someone who used to be here, please reach out to them to see if they will come back. Just let them know They have to be approved and I do take a little while sometimes.

Re: Book on restoring a L series pickup

I don't plan on reading it again, I'll pass my copy on for cost of postage.,

though I'd rather see people buy it from him & put some $$ in his pocket,

I'm sure it didn't sell quite as many copies as the Harry Potter books
