Longshot, But Will a A110 Tailgate interchange to a R series Tailgate?

Others will know better than me, but I do believe the gates would interchange. Most of the tailgates I've seen on models well into the 1960's looked like they would interchange with tailgates from the early 1950's assuming similar size/model trucks. I'm not sure the models that have the smooth exterior sides of the bed (in the '60's) would interchange with the step-side (rear fenders exposed) models, however. This topic appears in the L,R, and S forum. You may want to ask this question in the A, B, C and D forum as well, so the guys who frequent that forum can answer too.

If it's a step side the same gate was used from the A series all the way to the last of the light line in 1975.
The earlier models (L,R,S) are different.
