Been searching :m03104: for new front drums. This company has them on eBay, but they don't know dimensions. Help please? :t0117:
My dimensions are 5" on 4 3/4" bolt pattern. OD 12.5" ID 12. 2 1/8-2 1/4 THICK/WIDE.

Sooooo what are the dimensions of the 5 lug drum brakes on the 1953 international Travel All. I can't find this size anywhere. My suspension shop discovered that mine had been pulled off but not attached back together correctly. So now they're suggesting I replace them. However, they don't do fabs so I can't have them go ahead and switch me over to discs. :t0116:

Something like this: http://www.oldinternationaltrucks.ca/products/?CatID=92 Go to this page then down to the L,R,S area and click there, They have drums.
They are in Canada. Keep in mind that the studs are swedged into the front hub and drum.

Perhaps 5 on 4.5" ?. 4.75" sounds like a GM pattern?

Waiting for water to boil is the worst thing ever isn't it?

If you haven't already, cruise over to this website :
http://www.hansenwebdesign.com/truck/facts.html

download the parts and repair manuals from the right side of the page. I think you'll find some very useful info on what size your brakes should be. That's not saying that someone didn't swap something else onto the truck. You can try to cross the part #s from the manual on google or maybe Napa or Orielly or something like that. You may find info to piece the puzzle together with.

the Travelall and pickup have the exact same running gear, so any info and/or parts you find for pick up will work, 5 lug pickup drum is same 5 lug travelall drum,

IF, IF, I say IF you still have your factory installed front axle, if you have something else under your truck,,,,,the time for a little detective work.

only difference would be if truck has 11 inch drums instead, MOST early 50s had 12 inch, they started putting in 11 inch in later 50s but not sure of the exact model or year.

A '53 what??? Many, many brake parts are model specific.

If you Google any IH parts numbers do not use spaces like they are in the book.
Example
97 612 R1 Drum,is how pn's appear in the book and will get little if any search results.
97612R1 Drum, is much more likely to get results.

If your drums are a 5-on-4.75" lug pattern, they're NOT original to a '53 International.

ANY '53 International.

The R-110 lug pattern was 5-on-4-1/2".

Travelalls used the same as the other R-110's.

5-on-4.75" is a GM pattern...NOT International.

ORIGINAL drums should Raybestos number 2316...and they're awfully hard to find these days. And the shoes to fit are Raybestos number 30, possibly with "PG" attached to that number....just like I posted on the other thread about this vehicle.

with a 5 lug wheel it is likely that the O/P doesn't now how to measure bolt circle. You DO NOT measure stud to stud.

If you have the original axle and brakes, looks like Rock Auto has your drums and all the rest of the brake hardware.
