Custom Bed Finished

After much debate my be on my 1954 R-100 was beyond repair. So I built a custom flat bed. Not factory but I think it turned out good.

I post my pics through photobucket. You don't have to resize them when you post them on this site.

Re: Custom Bed Finished

awood, it looks really nice, was the truck a flatbed to start with? I would have thought an R-100 would have a pickup bed. Build it as you are going to use it, but being from a farm, I would recommend mud flaps behind the rear tires if you want to keep that flatbed as nice as it is now. Good Luck with it and enjoy! - Bob

Re: Custom Bed Finished

The old bed being 60 years old had that many years of crud in it. When all was removed, the bed had more holes than a rural stop sign. Bottom was a complete loss and the sides were trashed so I went this route. What was odd and great was that the tailgate was in pretty good shape. After some rehab on it I was able to save it. It now hangs in my shop. Would probably be willing to sell it to help complete another persons restoration. Mud flaps are on the list, but would like to find IH/Diamond flaps that are correct in size and not white. All I have found has been able to find are white IH.
