SD220 Engine Parts

Having my L112 SD220 engine overhauled. Here is a copy of the parts ordered for my engine for those that might need
to do the same thing. I'm not sure how these prices compare with other suppliers. The cam shaft was worn and needs reground as well as the lifters. The cylinder bores had a ridge on them at the top of the piston travel and the walls were tapered so they need re-bored and new pistons. Having new valves and seats installed.
Engine shop asked if I wanted to increase the horsepower any. I assume by adding a larger bore on the cylinder. With an original 3-spd tranny, a 55mpg upper limit and I don't plan on hauling heavy loads I am not sure what there is to gain by increasing HP. Any thoughts?
Costing me about $1000 labor on top of the $1300 in parts. Not sure what these services cost in other parts of the country. Here's what a local Engine/performance shop is charging me. Company does real nice work and have heard many good things about them. I can see why others drop in a crate engine...but then there are other costs involved with that. Have all the engine covers painted and other linkages/parts cleaned and painted. The engine is a big expense since I don't have the knowledge or equipment to do those parts. Body/window gaskets and painting will be the next big expense.
Valve Job $215.00
Re-surface Head $ 72.00
Grind and Polish Crank $165.00
Grind and Polish Cam $150.00
Re-bore Block $168.00
Replace cam bearing $ 55.00
Replace Freeze plugs $ 40.00
Re-surface block $100.00
Re-grind Lifters $ 85.00
-----------
Total $1050.00
