I was wondering if any one knew what the gear ratio in the rear end of a 1952 l-112 was. I did a quick check by jacking up the rear end and spinning the drive shaft it was roughly 2:1 single wheel differential. is this right? this gears seem really high for this truck?

If one side is still on the ground don't you have to multiply by 2? 4.1 was a pretty common ratio for L/R112.

If you look at the top of the Differential where the drive shaft is connected it should be stamped in the housing, mine's 4.1 (4.11?) I have the same truck

According to literature I have, there were two choices. 3.73:1 and 4.1:1 for the L-110, 111, 112. Not to say your rear may have been changed sometime before you took passion. Others say that the ratio is stamped on the outside of the housing. Some close checking may reveal your ratio.
