is this the correct radio for my 112? the seller claims its an IH radio and it looks like it would fill the hole

I would guess that IHC factory would try and encourage their dealers to use factory accessories, but when reality and practically set in, I would have to believe that many dealers had radios installed locally or at the dealership and what was available was what went into the dash. In the early 1980's, I adapted a 1960's Ford Radio to our R120 because the knob stems fit the IHC dash. If I can find the adapter, I will try and post a picture.

I adapted this radio, don't recall what it was in. The knobs aren't the correct knobs that came with it and they aren't the one's that are staying on it. I still have some filling in to do on the corners and and along the bottom but it fits good now. I looked for the correct radio for a long time and never found one at a decent price.

Looking up under the dash I was able to find where someone had previously mounted the antenna and patched it back in with a piece of sheet metal and bondo. After grinding out the bondo and removing the sheet metal the antenna fit right in.

is the antenna universal? would one from a 1954 Mercury Monterey work?

I just used a universal telescoping am antenna, I'm not sure what a Mercury antenna looks like.

I guess just about all those antenna's looked about the same, as long as its chrome and looks right I could care less, lol, as soon as i get the truck done its going to be pulling my jeep and hauling all my junk off to college, think it's up to the task?

Every IH (Motorola) radio I ever saw had an IH part number printed in ink on the back,sometimes bottom. The dial also had "International" in script across it. I found some old ones in the storage body and an old bus we stored "obsolete" parts in. Found a few of those speakers with the metal case someone posted pic's of too.

(sure would like to have all that stuff today)
