Any info on "HNS" transmissions?

I suspect the overdrive transmission (I think it's supposed to be from a '55) I have is the "HDS" 3-speed. I've been trying to Google for info, but have found pretty much none.

Are there any resources/info out there about them?

ETA: Changed the title, because it's a HNS, not HDS.

Go to this link: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17591582/International%20Manuals/CTS-11/CTS-11-L-Line_Transmission.pdf .

Then go to page 7 of the PDF, which is page 1 in section A of the CTS-11 factory service manual...which is the section on the HDS transmission. That should give you service information.

In the MT-63 parts manual, at this link: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17591582/International%20Manuals/MT-63/Group_13_Transmission_Part_1.pdf Figures 13-01, 13-02, 13-02B, 13-03, 13-07, and 13-08 will show you the illustrated breakdown on the transmission parts.

The rest of the transmission information will be found in the other parts of the Group 13 section of the MT-63 parts book, found here: http://nwaringa.wordpress.com/2009/09/18/mt-63-manual/ .

You can sometimes take the IH part numbers and get them to cross over to other manufacturers...especially bearings and seals. Hope this information is helpful.

Thanks for the info Buzzman, I'll see if I can cross anything over to other stuff. I have the manuals for the truck, I was just wondering if these were good transmissions. How do they compare to a T-86, will it come apart if I add some extra horsepower, etc. I can't find any info on Google at all, just what's in the manual. Can I install a floor shift conversion on these, or are they different enough it wouldn't work?

OK, I was wrong again. It's not a T-86, nor is it a HDS (doesn't look anything like the HDS).

It is a HNS, from page 27 of the MT-97 parts catalog, fig 13-13: "3 Speed, Model HNS, With Overdrive, Code 1383." The overdrive unit is on page 30. I am pretty sure it's stamped R10, B-W.

Of course, the transmission being a HNS, still doesn't help me much. Hopefully it is in good shape inside.
