IH Parts Cross Reference to New Parts

Hello Gentleman,

I have the MT-63 catalog http://nwaringa.wordpress.com/2009/09/18/mt-63-manual/
for the L-series trucks. Is there a handy cross reference guide from old IH parts to Napa or some other current
parts supplier available online? Has anyone made one up as they work on their own trucks?

The parts list in the L,R and S section on this site where others post the current part numbers is very helpful.

It has been mentioned as a good tip to use the computer software at the parts counter to find the latest part numbers for old IH parts...but I doubt all places have the software. I need to buy a new bushing for the clutch pedal and while they may still have them I can see having the current replacement part number helpful. Any thoughts?

Trying to save some legwork that others may have already done.

Gosh I love working on these old toys. :D

Re: IH Parts Cross Reference to New Parts

At one time, long long ago, I had such a list. It was a spreadsheet of most all of the common IH parts with the IH part number and the comparable part number from other vendors.

Somewhere along the line, the file became lost in cyber space (or when one of my hard drives crashed)
One of the long term projects that I am working on when there is nothing else to do..

At Napa/Rockauto if you type in which truck you have, you will be surprised. Hope this helps.

and as Scottso is want to remind us, DO NOT USE spaces with the IH part numbers, They almost assuredly will not show up. My 1/5 of a dime.

Re: IH Parts Cross Reference to New Parts

Thanks Fellas,

So far brake cylinders, brake spring kits, brake hoses, gasket kits, 6v coil and shocks have been available from Rock Auto, Napa, and others.
Thanks for the no space tip when searching IH part numbers. I hope my fortune continues in that the parts I need are easy to find yet.
