For the hydraulic brakes you have to say if it's a model L 184 or other, because they are differant.

I have the same question. I had a hard time finding stuff for the motor (tune up) but now I'm worried about the brake system. Mine is a '53 and has air brakes. I haven't wanted to work on any of the other systems because I'm worried about the braking system.

Heres a link to the "L" parts manual, may be of some help, probably have to cross the numbers.

Kevin,
I didn't look through it, but according to what's printed on the cover, that manual only covers 1/2 and 3/4 ton models.

The MT-63 parts book only applies to the L-110/111/112/120/121/122 trucks.

I haven't found an L-180 parts manual online...but I did find an MT-85 parts book on the L-185 and L-1853 Schoolmaster series trucks, which should be a lot closer to what you need. Thanks to Irish Mike and his GangsterIH site:

Hope this is somewhat helpful.

For brakes you most likely will not find off the shelf stuff . But any good brake clutch supply place can reline the shoes and probably rebuild air units.

I know nothing about air brakes conbinder89 can probably answer most anything about them I think.

I'll have to wait till I get home to open it, the computers here at work wont let me. I think when I get payed this week I'm going to buy a parts manual of eBay. I'm going to go to the dealer and talk to them and see what they have and can get. I dont know anything about air brakes either but thanks for the idea of a brake shop to do the work just have to find one. I also need a wiring diagram for it because this winter I'm going to build a new wiring harness for it, the mice have got to it plus it pretty chopped up. Probably go to the dealer and see if they will copy some pages out of a service manual for me. What id reall like to do is get some newer semi axles or something for it that you can find parts for but that takes money. LOL

Re: parts for 1950 L180

Well on the invoice I have from them it says Service. There is an older guy that works there and know ALOT about the old Internationals. They have all the old books for them and can even look up the parts for them. I dont know how far back but they were able to get me some brake parts for my '57 S-110 and they have TONs of the old sock oil filters on the shelf. I dont think they have any new trucks out there for sale and I don't know if you can buy them from them or not. They do have several used ones and some Scouts out along the highway for sale. In another thread on here I gave the info so people could get the sock oil filters from them. I dont know if that was a good idea or not :bashhead: , end up loosing my supply. LOL
