Hi all,

I am looking for a exact replacement starter solenoid for my 52 L110. Can someone point me to a source? Or, does anyone know of a rebuild kit?

Thanks,
Tim

I just replaced mine on my R110. I got it from a shop that rebuilds starters and alternators. They had both 6V and 12V in stock seems like the L would have used the same part. They also had the bushings, brushes and bendix (They called it a clutch).
Have fun MW

Tim, contact one of these:http://directory.spartanburgdirect.info/Automotive_Marine/Repair_Service/Alternator_Starter_Repair/
They should be able to help you out, or direct you to a source closer to you.
Good luck in your search. If you have no luck let us know, someone will know of a shop that CAN get it.
Lloyd

Between my '51 and my '51 L-112's, I have two different starters. One has a GM-style solenoid on it [I suspect that was the one off the BD-264 in the '52]. It took me almost a week to find that solenoid with the clevis on the "business end." I hope your luck is better.

When the truck was converted to 12V years ago, someone used a Ford-style solenoid on the fenderwell. To make it compatible with the GM solenoid, I had to install a shunt in order to make the GM solenoid work. So now I have the functional equivalent of the "hot-start kit" they sell for GM products with headers.
