carburetor kit BD 240

My workhorse 1953 R-130 has been running poorly, fine at idle, fine at WOT, misses in between.
Been taking carb apart. Found a bit of crap in the main metering jet, and removing that fixed the problem, but then leaky needle-valve and flooding reappeared. Bought a totally wrong carb kit, modified the needle to fit and maybe that problem is gone. But now it will not idle.

Suggestions about where to look for that problem welcome, but I also really need a correct carb kit. I can't order one by application, because the engine is not original to the truck and the carb may not be original to the engine. It is a 1-barrel Holley, LIST # 1237 1S 8B1 Holley tech support referred me to Allstate carburetors, but they will not sell me the parts, they just want to rebuild the carb themsleles for $340

Source of parts?
THANKS!

Re: carburetor kit BD 240

It looks like the List 1237 was a service carburetor for SD 220's and 240's. I've had good luck with Daytona Parts. https://daytonaparts.com/
Otherwise, Mike's Carburetor Parts should have what you're looking for. https://www.carburetor-parts.com/

Re: carburetor kit BD 240

As posted above, List 1237 is a factory service carburetor.

We do offer a rebuilding kit.
