I went to take the truck out for a drive a couple of weeks ago and didn't get out of the driveway, as I had no brakes. I pushed it back under the carport and started to troubleshoot the problem. Checked the master cylinder and it was dry. Refilled it and still no pedal at all. There was no fluid on the ground anywhere.
I pulled the driver side tire and drum, and lo and behold, the wheel cylinder had blown.
Was able to order them from Napa. However, I don't recommend their shipping to the house, if you can. It took 8 days to get them. The local store is less than 4 miles.
Got them in and installed, to include the brake hardware. You can get a kit that has both front and rear hardware.
The only problem I have is with the brake shoe hold down pin. It's a bit to long and causes the spring and cup to stand out too much and dig into the drum or come off inside. All of the other springs and adjustment stuff works fine. The rears don't rub, just the front.
I got numbers and stuff off this forum a while back. However, many of those links no longer work and the numbers are not found. These items I present now is what I found at this time.
Here's a comparison that shows the hold down pin is just a hair too long.
