the 2 inch offset does not pose a problem with matching driveshaft angles.
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have

My Explorer 8.8 rearend has disk brakes and it is about 2' narrower than the stock rearend. I did add spacers on both sides, doesn't seem to be a problem.

THE WEAKEST LINK
The first thing to break when power is applied, can be called the fuse. In an old IHC pickup truck, the first fuse is loss of traction.
with something to remedy the loss of traction, the next fuse to blow will be somewhere in the driveline. I quess this is typical of most vehicles.
